Bajaj has hiked the prices of its entire BS6 lineup once again. The Platina 100 KS Alloy now costs Rs 49,261, a price bump of Rs 1,498 over the previous asking price. The ES Alloy variant is priced at Rs 50,470 (both prices ex-showroom Delhi).The Bajaj Platina 100 is one of the brand’s most popular commuter motorcycles. It is well known for its comfort, fuel efficiency and reliability. The Bajaj Platina 100 BS6 was launched in January 2020. It is available in two variants: kickstart and electric start.

Platina 100 Specifications
The Bajaj Platina 100 BS6 uses a 102cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine with an electronic carburettor. It churns out 7.9PS at 8500rpm and 8.34Nm at 5500rpm. It makes the same amount of power and torque as the BS4 Bajaj Platina 100. The engine is mated to a 4-speed transmission. Bajaj claims the motorcycle can reach a top speed of 90kmph. The Bajaj Platina 100 BS6 employs a telescopic fork up front with 135mm travel and a Spring-N-Spring rear shock absorber with 110mm rear wheel travel. The motorcycle comes to a halt using a 130mm drum up front and 110mm drum at the rear with a standard combined braking system. There is no front disc brake available even as an option.

Platina 100 Variants
The Bajaj Platina 100 BS6 comes in two variants: kick start and electric start. The kick start variant is priced at Rs 47,264, whereas the electric start version costs Rs 54,797, both ex-showroom Delhi. Compared to the corresponding variants of the BS4-compliant model, the newer bike is dearer by Rs 6,368. All prices are ex-showroom Delhi.

Platina 100 Design
The design of the Bajaj Platina 100 BS6 is pretty conservative, but with a hint of premiumness thanks to the inclusion of the bikini fairing and sporty-looking graphics. Bajaj has given more importance to comfort and hence, it features a long, well-cushioned single-piece seat, easy-to-reach handlebars for upright ergonomics, and a pair of footboards for the pillion instead of footpegs.

For superior comfort, the Bajaj Platina 100 BS6 features a ‘Spring-Soft’ seat, which is claimed to feature a unique foam system designed to absorb shocks from the bottom of the seat. For the pillion, it features rubber footpads, which offer greater surface area when the pillion rests his/her foot. Other notable features include a LED DRL with halogen headlamp, bulb-type indicators, and tail lamp.

Bajaj Platina 100 Competitors
The Bajaj Platina 100 BS6 competes against the Hero HF Deluxe BS6, which starts from Rs 55,925 (ex-showroom Delhi).
